Springtime in Tennessee

Spring is here and we have the up and down weather that is so typical of this time of year. Last Tuesday, I think it was, we broke a winter high when the temperature reached the mid 80s. Then yesterday was cold and spitting snow.

This is that time of the school year when you realize there’s not much time left before summer break as we’ve just begun the last quarter of school. Jenna is in her spring break this week. The boys and I get our break next week which makes me a bit envious of her right now. At least I have a break to look forward to.

There’s not a lot to report about school life, though I have enjoyed watching my boys interact with the other kids on my bus, particularly in the afternoons. They’ve become a big hit with the younger boys. Nate had everyone laughing the other day when he was intentionally blowing big bubbles with his gum and letting the gum deflate all over his face. I knew it was going to be good when he said, “Wait! Let me take my glasses off first.”

Last Wednesday night Jenna and I went to a concert. Life Center, one of two congregations meeting in the big church by the interstate, was hosting Big Daddy Weave on their Beautiful Offerings tour. Plumb and Jordan Feliz are touring with them. They made it a fun evening and it was a special treat to catch them just seven miles down the road.

Friday night Vicki and Jenna went to TPAC where they saw a Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera. They came home talking about how good the whole thing was from the acting and singing to the costumes and how the set worked. This has always been one of Jenna’s favorite musicals. There’s no telling how many times Jenna has watched the movie version and she knows all the songs by heart, so, she was disappointed to learn that singing along is not proper etiquette.
